MCP cdp_session_update

Description

Rebuild and redeploy the app into an existing CDP debug session (for iterative development: change code, call this, then re-check state). Reuses the same project root, device, and build config the session was originally created with -- resumes the debugger first if paused, rebuilds and resideloads the app (same build path as cdp_session_create), reloads the source map, and re-maps/re-applies every breakpoint that was set before the rebuild against the new build. Breakpoints whose source line no longer exists or moved beyond recognition are reported as failed rather than silently dropped. Clears the console/error buffers (a fresh deployment is a fresh start).

Delegates internally to debug_session_update with rebuild: true. Its reappliedBreakpoints/failedBreakpoints now use debug_session_update's id-based shape (each failed entry is { id, reason }), not the earlier { file, line, reason } shape this tool returned before aliasing.

Optional parameters:

  • sessionId (string): Session id returned by cdp_session_create. Uses the active session when omitted.
  • password (string): NOT SUPPORTED in this release -- passing it fails the call with an invalid-params
error, since the underlying debug_session_update alias has no equivalent for a rebuild-time password
override. Recreate the session via cdp_session_create with a stored device password instead.

Aliases

Alias of debug_session_update; rebuild=true; Rejects a password override; recreate the session with a stored device password instead.
