MCP dap_thread_stop_reason

Description

Read a BrightScript thread's cached stop reason and code snippet.

Speaks Roku's socket-based BrightScript debug protocol on TCP 8081 -- NOT the Microsoft Debug Adapter Protocol.

IMPORTANT: this is a read of cached state, not a device command -- the protocol has no "get stop reason" command. Stop reasons arrive inside the ALL_THREADS_STOPPED update and each THREADS entry, and are cached server-side; this tool never talks to the device.

Returns both a raw numeric stopReason code and a resolved stopReasonName (e.g. "BREAK", "RUNTIME_ERROR") -- use the name, the raw code isn't meaningful on its own. stopReasonDetail (the device's own free-text message, e.g. "Divide by Zero.") is included when the device populated it, but is not guaranteed for every stop.

  • threadId (string, optional): Namespaced thread id, e.g. brs:0. Uses the
session's default thread (see dap_thread_select) when omitted.
  • sessionId (string, optional): Session id returned by debug_session_create.
Uses the active session when omitted.
